About DIMANCHE....
DIMANCHE is French for Sunday. The day of the week that inspires me. Sunday reminds me of beaches and laughter, bright colours and warm yellow light. Sunday for our family is a day to to relax or dress up and dash off for an event.
Every piece of clothing is hand made carefully. The material I pick is to create a stylish, unique and beautiful product. I source material from Australia and America. Some material is hand printed from independent textile boutiques (this is reflected in pricing and will be mentioned in description). I make limited numbers to ensure uniqueness.
Background
I started sewing as an off side project as a creative outlet to balance my day job of being a mother/law student. Dress making runs in our family so I thought I would give it a go (secretly believing I would not like it and find it to fiddly). To my surprise I absolutely loved it and started to think of my own patterns and play around with material.
I soaked up youtube videos on how to sew, practiced, made mistakes and practiced more. I brought patterns from www.danamadeit.com who also provides visual aids to making varying pieces. I began to understand how material worked and how to create my own patterns. I am still an amateur and learning more everyday, some pieces have slight imperfections that you would see in anything if you looked closely. In saying that I am a perfectionist I would not sell anything I would not put on my daughter. I believe I price my pieces so they can be available to anyone.
